HIV testing is for children, too. ๐
Under the Philippine HIV and AIDS Policy Act of 2018, young people aged 15 years and older can provide their own consent for voluntary HIV testing.
Children below 15 years old may also undergo HIV testing and receive counseling without parental consent if they are pregnant or have experienced situations that place them at higher risk of HIV exposure, in accordance with the mature minor doctrine.
To help ensure children’s safety and well-being, licensed social workers and trained counselors play an essential role in providing age-appropriate counseling, psychosocial support, and guidance throughout the HIV testing process.
Health is a right!
