A service provider who CARES respects your lived name. ๐Ÿ’›

At HASH x Safe Play Tayo, we believe this is basic: call people by the name and pronouns that truly reflect who they are. When people feel affirmed, they’re more likely to open up, feel confident getting tested, and stay connected to care.

The data supports this, too. According to a research brief by The Trevor Project, transgender and nonbinary (TGNB) youth whose pronouns were respected had lower rates of suicide attempts in the past year (11% vs. 17%). Pronoun respect was also associated with 31% lower odds of a past-year suicide attempt.

Respect is harm reduction. Care is care.
