Big step for HIV prevention: the Philippines has secured 15,000 doses of injectable PrEP called Lenacapavir (LEN). Unlike daily pills, LEN is long-acting, with dosing every 6 months — twice a year.

According to CDC data from clinical recommendations, LEN showed 96% efficacy in preventing HIV infection in a primarily male trial population, with very high efficacy also reported in other trial groups.
